AFJROTC stands for Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps.
What is JROTC all about?
The mission of Air Force Junnior Resorve Officer Training Corps is to develop citizens of character, dedicated to serving their nation and community.
Is there a military commitment for joing JROTC?
No. High school JROTC is all about developing students into leaders who care about their community as they make the transition into adulthood.
What will I learn in JROTC?
Students will learn about the history of aviation, science of flight and space exploration. We explore cultural studies in the areas of Asia, Middle East, Europe, and Latin America while discussing how these regions affect the United States. They will also learn about military appearance, customs and courtisies, Air Force structure, ethics,. communication skills, how to write a resume, public speaking, pursuing a careet and attending the college training necessary for the career of choice. Students learn how to become managers and use that knowledge to run the JROTC unit when they reach their junior and senior years.
What is the Mission of the JROTC?
To Build Better Citizens for America by educating high school cadets in citizenship; promote community service; instill responsibility, character, and self discipline; and provide instruction in Airspace Science fundamentals.
What does AFJROTC cadets do outside of school?
Community Service, Color Guard, Drill Teams, Drill Competitions, Parades, Field Trips, Military Ball (Formal Military Banquet), and Recruiting new Cadets into JROTC.
